Our Next Generation Masks:
Design & Localization
To meet the huge need for a highly effective and compostable mask, our parent company ETC Biomed USA are in the final stages of production on our mask and nonwoven fabric machines. We also have two proprietary medical N95 mask designs completed and currently in testing:
Custom Tri-Fold Earloop (Available Soon)
Custom Medical Earloop (Available Soon)
Our masks will provide consumer level performance up to Level 3 Surgical or NIOSH 99+% protection. They will be designed, engineered, material sourced and manufactured 100% in the USA, with localization to come in Ireland/UK.
Next Generation Construction
We are using leading edge Nano-fiber technology. This state of the art material has the capabilities of stopping up to 99% of airborne particles, blocking virtually all airborne viruses.
Fibers are produced at a weight of 1 gram/square meter for a 99+% filtration level — compared to regular meltblown fabric, which would have up to 28-30 grams/square meter and 95+% filtration at best. This gives our masks unique lightness and amazing breathability compared to what exists on the market.
Our mask design has three layers of nonwoven material:
Exterior — Polypropylene spunbond/meltblown/ spunbond (SMS), sourced in the USA.
Core — Nano-fiber filtration layer produced on site with proprietary equipment.
Interior — Soft nonwoven designed for comfort against the skin, sourced in the USA.
Unique options available: Exterior layers may have colors and/or antimicrobial treatment and/or a repellent treatment.
Biodegradable Technology for Sustainability
Our polyester polymer has a low melting point compared to the vast majority of competitors products (by itself it is biodegradable). We have combined the melt polyester/PLA blend to optimize biodegradability and performance of the polymer.
The graph below shows the compostability properties of our technology compared to conventional products.
Our global team has worked to design masks using innovative new manufacturing processes, groundbreaking materials science, and cutting-edge automation to deliver the world's first fully compostable N95-type respirator.
